Your Guide To Wedding Speaches

To some people, wedding speaches are one of the most dreaded parts of the wedding ceremony. People tend do become nervous at the thought of standing in front of an audience. The secret to giving good wedding speaches is to just relax. Chances are, if you have been invited to a wedding, and you are expected to give a speech, you are already liked by your audience! Just be yourself, say what is on your mind, and your wedding speech will go smoothly!

Here are some tips to help you out with writing wedding speaches...

  • Carry a notebook around with you.

Don't you just hate it when you are trying to think of things to write, but your mind draws a blank? Most of the time, when you are trying too hard to think of something, you will have very little success! Carry a notebook around with you throughout the day, and when something good comes to your mind, write it down!

  • Write an outline

I know what your thinking... that is so high school, right? Wrong! All professional writers use an outline to organize what they want to put into their final copy! The purpose of an outline is to get your mind thinking about exactly what you want to say! A good outline is nothing more than a topic sentence to each paragraph/section and a few supporting details for your topic sentence!

  • Write it how you would say it

Try to stay away from big words. I don't know too many people that bring a dictionary to the wedding, so use common words that everyone will understand. It would be a great idea to invest a few bucks in a voice recorder. With a voice recorder, you can say what you want to say, and go back later and write it all out!
